Frequently Asked Questions

Who qualifies to submit?

All current undergraduate and graduate students as well as holders of non-terminal graduate degrees, such as M.A. or M.S. Holders of M.F.A. and/or Ph.D. degrees are not eligible.

I have a Ph.D. May I submit? What if I wrote the paper before graduating?

We’re not accepting submissions from Ph.Ds at this time.

How often is the journal published?

We currently publish one issue per year. Our first issue will be published Summer 2020.

May I make multiple submissions?

You may submit once per category per issue (i.e. one academic essay and one piece of creative non-fiction).

May I submit fan fiction or poetry?

Please don’t submit fan fiction or poetry.

Do I need to own the rights to my own work?

Yes. Please make sure you own the rights to any work you submit.

We consider only previously unpublished work. We ask for first rights to publish accepted work online; after publication, all rights revert to the author.

Is there a submission fee?

Not at this time. However, we are hoping to transition to a multimedia journal and will need to charge a small fee for non-print submissions.
